Rejuvenation

The American River Canyon between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento has seen its fair share of nature's power. Wildfire, enhanced by draught, is one of the cards this area has been dealt. However, we must realize that fire is necessary to clean out the forest. Overgrowth and dead trees are cleaned out and the seeds of new plants are able to germinate as a result of fire. This image shows the beauty that can result from fire. The dark bark of burned trees contrasting against the brilliant Fall colors of new growth, all reflected in the crystal clear waters of the American River. Rejuvenation!
