My friend Christian was kind enough to lead me to this location near Baker Beach in San Francisco. i seldom photograph man made subjects, but the Golden Gate Bridge is an exception I will make. Whenever possible, I like to incorporate natural elements with a man made structure. What better element than the ocean and rocky shoreline. I was very lucky with this first visit, and Mother Nature provided a beautiful sunset. With the light waning, and using slow speed 4x5 inch film, I was able to extend my exposure to a full 2 minutes. This length of exposure transformed the rolling waves (which were crashing on the rocks) into an ethereal fog upon the water. A nice effect against the powerful structure of the Golden Gate Bridge.
