One of my favorite aspects of shooting large format film is the fine detail I am able to capture and reproduce in a beautiful fine print. This is an image I composed last fall, and just brought into edition. Fall can be fleeting, and when a storm hits the mountains, the beauty of brilliant fall leaves can change overnight. Winds and rain can transform the trees into their naked dormant winter state overnight. At the same time, they can transform the forest floor and meadows into subtle detailed mosaics. A mix of vibrant color and earth tones is an amazing palette to work with. I happened upon this beautiful scene while "hunting" bears (with my camera). I returned the next morning with my large format equipment and composed this amazing image. It's all about the details!
