I was hoping to see a rainbow while at the Grand Canyon, and I almost slept through this one. Early mornings, very early, tend to catch up with me on my photo trips. After a few days, an afternoon nap is required. Well, I awoke from my nap and realized that intermittent rain clouds were blowing through the canyon. While earlier than I normally shoot, I raced to the rim of the Grand Canyon and set up quickly...and waited. Fortunately, the rainbow appeared late enough in the afternoon that I was able to create an image I found acceptable. I used my polarizing filter (actually anti-polarizing) to strengthen the rainbow. The shadows within the canyon, and white clouds made for a nice contrast in the image. not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
