Merced River and Spires

There are few places on earth I find more inspiring than Yosemite National Park. I tend to visit "The Valley" in the off seasons, and in inclement weather, so I can find moments of peace and solitude. Merced River & Spires was created during one of those moments. As the rain fell and the clouds sank low into the valley, the few people that were there chose to stay in their warm dry beds. As I wandered along the Merced, finding my piece and connecting with this amazing place once again, the simplicity of this scene opened up to me. I felt that oh so familiar sense of awe as I was shown Yosemite's mysterious beauty. The meandering Merced seamed to flow into a distant land. This is why I continue to visit this iconic location. Sometimes, I can see something brand new.
