Osprey and Catfish, Lake Tahoe
Osprey are quite amazing birds. Unlike most birds of prey, they actually hover high above the water observing fish. When they hone in on a victim, they drop strait into the water, folded over with their head down near their talons. They actually submerge completely, grabbing a fish, and then re-emerging, literally flying out of the water. I was fortunate to have been positioned in such a way that, when this Osprey began to fly off with his catch, I was at just the right angle to capture all of the action.
