Aspen Dream, Colorado
This was the "perfect" aspen image I had always dreamed of, but had never found the location. While in Southern Colorado pursuing Fall images, I was given directions to a reservoir far up an old dirt road that had beautiful color. Well, it didn't. As I headed back down this old road, through the pine and fir trees I noticed strong white lines. I pulled off, put my pack on and headed into the forest. The trudge over fallen logs and swampy ravines was well worth the effort. I found a perfect vantage point on the hillside that gave a wonderful feeling of depth, and made the vibrant yellow leaves visible beyond the white trunks. The light was perfect, with light rain and clouds. A proper exposure was all that was left to bring "Aspen Dream" to life!
