Bison on Hilltop Black & White, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Wandering the Hayden Valley on a rainy Fall day I came upon a small herd of Bison on a hill above me. I observed patiently as they grazed and wandered. As this lone bison stood upon the ridge of the hill, isolated against the white of the cloudy sky, my thoughts wandered to the simplicity of black and white. This image captures both a mood and timelessness that beckons to the history of these majestic creatures.
