Pastel Ocean an Rock Island Panorama

$0.00

While leading a client on a private photo tour of the Northern California Coast, we spent quite some time enjoying Pfeiffer State Beach in Big Sur. As the sunset turned a beautiful pink and purple tone, we worked on our long exposure techniques. For this image, at the waning end of sunset, I attached a polarizing filter to my lens. As it was becoming relatively dark, the filter, along with slow speed film and a small aperture, enabled me to extend my exposure time to 4 minutes. This took all detail out of the moving water and clouds, giving a truly graphic look to the dark rock island, which appears to be floating on an ocean of color. Lesson learned and art created!

Enjoy the View!
