Ice Falls, Glenn Alpine, Lake Tahoe Basin

Glenn Alpine Falls, located behind Fallen Leaf Lake in the South Lake Tahoe, is normally unaccessible in winter. The road simply isn't plowed. This particular winter, however, we were struck with a drought. While we got to enjoy winters cold, there was no snow at this point in winter. I took the opportunity to venture back to the waterfall and see what I could find. Well, here it is! Amazing fangs of blue ice had formed with the water still flowing below. What an amazing natural sculpture. I managed to set up my tripod and 8x10 film camera on the ice and exposed one beautiful sheet of film. To date, this is the only image I have captured on film in this location. This was the one.
