Glacier Detail Panorama
Standing on the side of a mountain next to a glacier is a powerful experience. The scale of the ice river can be overwhelming. As the cold wind blows off the ice and you look up the mountain valley that has been carved by the glacier, an impression is made. At the same time, I see beauty there. An attempt to capture "everything" would have diminished the impact. My focus was drawn to subtle, yet dramatic patterns in the structure of the frozen river. Crevasses, striations lined with sediment and volcanic dust, waves of ice. This is a frozen, flowing river beautiful in its power and fragility.
Enjoy the View!
