Ancient Shoreline, Alpenglow, Mount Tallac

Fallen Leaf Lake is perhaps my favorite sunrise location from which to photograph Mount Tallac, which happens to be my favorite peak in the Lake Tahoe region. The interesting stumps at the waters edge make for wonderful foreground subjects, and the reflection on the surface of the lake accentuates the mountains grandeur. The alpenglow in this image is a beacon to the day ahead. The mountains are amazing.
