Tangerine Dream, Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe
Emerald Bay is one of the most photographed locations in the world, and certainly one of my favorite Lake Tahoe subjects. It is a beautiful natural location that affords an intimate feel of a vast and expansive locale. However, the “standard” views, which are stunning, become common in peoples minds. My goal is to capture the intimate and dramatic nature of Emerald Bay in a unique way.
For this image, I decided to work with a completely different film format, lighting conditions and composition. Watching the weather closely, I selected a clear, calm morning well before sunrise. I then selected a very unique vertical panorama film format. The resulting image, on the edge of night and day, is a dramatic silhouette of a time and place rarely seen.
Enjoy the View!
