Sunset Panorama, East Shore, Lake Tahoe

$0.00

When it comes to large format film photography, I don’t just run around and snap “pictures”. I hunt for special locations and return time and time again until Mother Nature offers up a special quality of light. I am especially picky when it comes to my home region of Lake Tahoe. It is easy to take a nice photo here. But I don’t want nice. I want special. I want real. I want natural. I want to compose images that move me and my collectors.

This image, “Sunset Panorama, East Shore, Lake Tahoe”, is special. After standing in this position numerous times over the course of several weeks, Mother Nature put on a show. As the sun set to my left, the last rays of light softly painted the rocky shoreline and pine forest. The cloud formation was shaped and positioned perfectly, while being enhanced by a delicate pastel glow. The calm water has the contrast of reflected pink light from above and the turquoise hues of the shallow clear water from below. This was an image worth waiting and worthy of a big sheet of film. The amazing clarity of a large print from such a huge sheet of film enables the natural beauty to engulf the viewer. This is “The Fine Art of Nature”!

Enjoy the View!
