Tahoe Blue
This is a quintessential Lake Tahoe image, which I took a step further by shooting 8x10 inch film to truly do justice to this gem of the Sierras. While I normally don't compose images on days with cloudless skies, the East Shore of Lake Tahoe is beautifully enhanced by a big blue sky above. The lake mirrors the sky above, and the azure blue of this scene was created by the sky. I was fortunate to have calm waters, due to a lack of wind and boats. The boulders in the water accentuate the clarity and elude to the dynamic nature of the region (those rocks were part of the peaks above!). The snowcapped mountains in the background speak of the grandeur of this magical place. This image demands a wall of its own. Stunning in its simplicity. This is my home!
