After years of drought the water levels in Lake Tahoe were very low. This enabled a huge meadow of Lupine to take hold in the newly exposed damp sand. I took the opportunity to compose a very unique Tahoe image. Using a professional digital camera with low light capabilities, I composed this image of the Milky Way over the field of wildflowers flowers. In order to capture this image the way I had envisioned, I set my camera up on a ten foot ladder, enabling me to capture the expanse of the flowers. To illuminate the flowers, I teamed up with a drone pilot who flew his drone over the flowers with a headlamp strapped to the drone. The result is out of this world!
