Bison Portrait, Yellowstone

$0.00

After a week long workshop in Grand Teton National Park I decided to head home via Yellowstone. On my last evening in the Park I ventured out to a large meadow, in which I had often seen Bison. As luck would have it, a torrential downpour began. It rained incredibly hard for  almost an hour, ending about 45 minutes before sunset. Needless to say, I was there alone, in the soft evening light, as this massive bull bison slowly wandered through the meadow. He grazed and wandered, getting ever closer. Just the two of us shared this wild space. As he grunted and growned, with geysers steaming nearby and the sound of the Madison River behind me, everything was right. At the moment I captured this image, with the evenings last rays on this magnificent creature, I hoped for time to stop. This is why I do what I do.

Enjoy the View!
