Ghost Bear

$0.00

While spending 10 days photographing Alaskan Brown Bears feeding on salmon in Katmai National Park I took every moment available to simply observe the movements and habits of the bears. My diligence paid off in this amazing moment. The bears use the beach as a sidewalk, as it's much easier traveling than in the dense forest. Many bears would reach this spit of land at the mouth of the river and pause before crossing. I noted this location in the event of a foggy day. When I arose to dense fog, I grabbed my gear and headed strait there. After only  1 1/2 hours of waiting, this 900 pound bruin moved directly into the perfect position and kindly posed for me. I chose to compose the image accentuating the open space, giving a more thoughtful, powerful feel to the scene. This is a collectors favorite!

Enjoy the View!
